Gingerbread man's house

Even though there is not snow outside yet, that does not mean we can not make it, for this house to look like it has came out of a fantasy.

If you want to make this sweet Christmas house, you will need:
  • big sheet of paper
  • cotton (white and in color)
  • glue
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • candies and candy canes
  • markers
  • toothpicks

To start you need to draw the scheme for the bottom and the roof of the house. The one on the photo is 15x6x6 cm (the bottom part) and 17x8x8 cm (the roof).

Cut and fold them. After this step the parts need to look like this:

Glue them to form the parts of the house. After that glue them together. Cut a rectangular piece of paper, as big as you like. Glue the house on this base.

When you are done gluing it, draw the door and the windows.

On the both sides of the door, you can put decorative pillars. Those on out house are made from marshmallow.

Draw a path from the door. Glue hard chocolate candies in different colors.

The part of the base that is left empty, cover with white cotton, to make winter idyll. The house will become more beautiful when it is covered with snow.
The snowman that is keeping the house safe, can be easily made. Make three balls from the cotton in different dimensions. Put a toothpick through them, which will keep the snowman stand still. We used the cap from the candies for a hat. The broom is made from a piece of yellow cotton and a toothpick, and it is glued to the snowman. The eyes, nose, mouth and the buttons are drawn with markers.

The yard is decorated with cotton balls in different colors which are representing cotton candies. Near the house there is a lamp made from candy cane and a piece of yellow cotton.

Now the house is ready to welcome the new residents.

Jewelry glass

If you posses a lot of jewelry, but haven't got an idea for where to store it, this suggestion is perfect for you.

All you need is one big glass for wine. Put it on your work table or in other place in your room that you will choose.

You can put your necklaces in the glass. Hang the earrings on the edge, and wrap your bracelets around the bottom of the glass.

Clay ornaments

This ornaments from clay are so easy to make, that even the kids can make them without help.

To make them, you will need:
  • clay
  • knife or cookie cutters
  • straw
  • ribbon
  • water colors
  • brush
  • scissors
  • rolling-pin
To start you need to take out a piece of clay. Pug it just enough to make it soft. With the help of the rolling-pin (the black marker) twirl it in a circle 1cm thick.

After that you need to make the forms, with a knife or cookie cutters. Make holes on the top of the forms with a straw. Let them dry for at least 30 minutes, and rotate them, so they can dry on the both sides.

When the ornaments are dried, you can paint them. And when the color is dried, cut pieces of the ribbon, put them in the hole and tie it.

Your ornaments are ready to be put on the Christmas tree.

In this way you can make ornaments in any form you like.

Santa's stable

Reserve some space in your home for Santa's reindeers. Here is an easy project for which you won't need a lot of money.

Materials:

  • large paper sheets (red, green, brown, black)
  • white paper sheets
  • scissors
  • wide tape
  • black marker

Cut 20 cm of the red sheet. And cut the other part in 4 triangles. Those will be the door of the stable.

Cut the green one just to fit the top half of your door and hang it 10 cm above the red one.

Draw the reindeer's heads on the brown sheet, cut them and hang them on the door as you wish.

From the part that you cut from the red sheet, and on the black sheet, draw the antlers.

Cut the reindeer's noses from the sheets.

Make the eyes from white paper sheet and the black one. You can do the same easily, if you draw the eyes on the white paper whit marker.

And just the reindeer's legs which hold the sign "DO NOT FEED THE REINDEERS" need to be done. Draw and cut them from the brown paper sheet.

Materials:

  • red ornaments
  • glue
  • black color
  • brush
  • black paper sheet
  • pencil

Draw a line on the half of the ornament, which will help you in the process of coloring. On the first ornament, paint just the top part (the bottom stays red for Mickey's pants), and the other one paint all in black. Let them dry.

While the ornaments are drying, draw Minnie's ears on the sheet and cut them. Have in mind to draw an extra part which you will fold and glue to the ornament.

Then cut 10 cm long ribbon. Make a bow and stitch it.

When the color on the ornaments is dried, glue the buttons, the bow and the ears with glue or silicone glue. Let them dry for 30 minutes.

After that, when they are dried enough, you can hang them on the Christmas tree.

Christmas "lights"

Interesting way to get the Christmas spirit in your home. Make this Christmas "lights" with fingerprints.

For this, you will need:

  • white paper sheets
  • watercolors or tempera colors
  • brush
  • scissors
  • thread
  • needle

First, add color on your fingertip. (It is best to work color by color, because in any other way the colors can mix.) Leave fingerprints on the paper. Add color on the finger for each fingerprint and be careful to leave enough space between them.

After you are done with making fingerprints, leave them to dry and cut them. With a needle, put them on a thread. And voila, you have an interesting and unique ornament!
